Getting started
Welcome to FindFind.it! Here are the most important things to know:
FindFind.it is not a search engine but a search tool. FindFind.it doesn't search itself, it only redirects to other search engines and sites.
This is done by shortcuts. So the first word of your search must be a shortcut keyword. It tells FindFind.it where you want to search. For instance, g berlin will search with Google, because g is the keyword for the Google shortcut. See a list of shortcuts.
shortcuts can also take two or more arguments, as for instance db berlin, hamburg will search Deutsche Bahn Fahrplanauskunft.
Every shortcut is assigned to exactly one namespace. For instance, the shortcut Deutsche Bahn Fahrplanauskunft (Germany's railway timetable) with the keyword db is assigned to the Germany namespace deu. This makes the keyword db in other namespaces available for other shortcuts. Read more about namespaces.
Your current namespaces are shown above right under the logo. You can only call shortcuts from these namespaces – unless you prefix your keyword with a namespace, i.e.:
deu.db
.You can add FindFind.it to your browser.
You can register a user account (but don't have to). With a user account, you can create your own shortcuts.
You can contribute to the source code.
